Ex-PDP Chairman Hails Buhari, Blasts PDP

A former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for his integrity while accusing the PDP of doing things against the law when they were in power.

Ogbulafor said this in Abuja on Tuesday, November 17 during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

He said Buhari’s meticulousness played a role in the way he selected those that would work for him.

“I have absolute confidence that Buhari will restore the integrity of this nation once more. After all, he did it when he was Head of State and he is going to do it again.

“I believe now that he has selected his cabinet and assigned portfolio to them, the challenge has begun. The time is now and the place is here,” Ogbulafor said.

He urged Nigerians to give the president and members of his cabinet time to offer their service.

“We need to give his cabinet time to master their offices and assignments, and go through the files and take off. That is what I think.”

Ogbulafor urged President Buhari to remain sincere and also expressed confidence in his ability to govern the country well.

“I believe now that Buhari has selected his cabinet, if they are accused of corruption, he should now deal with them by setting example”

He said he was glad that the country had stabilised after President Buhari assumed office and urged Nigerians to be patient and pray for him to do the right thing.

He said the government should look into fixing the bad roads in the country.

“Port Harcourt-Enugu road is bad, Eket-Umuahia road is bad, Enugu-Onitsha road is bad, Onitsha Bridge is bad, and Enugu-Benue road is bad.

“I am glad Buhari gave works to Fashola. Let us see if he can do things the other way and address those areas that were not given attention before.”

He applauded the president for staying neutral and not interfering with the issue in the National Assembly. He claimed that if the PDP were in power, a lot of bribery would have been going on.

“If it were to be during our time, we would have moved sacks of money to bribe national assembly to do what we want.

“Party interference, presidential interference, but today we are doing things the way they want and is working for them.”

He noted that power supply was getting steadier under the new administration and that petrol supply had also improved.

“Petrol supply has also improved, just that these dealers and importers of petrol are not cooperating because they don’t want to go by the price fixed for petroleum.”

Prince Ogbulafor caused a stir when he was still a member of the PDP when he claimed the party would rule the country and dominate the political scene for 60 years.
