Jail Corrupt Politicians, Nigerian Students Tell Buhari
The National Association of Nigerian Student’s (NANS) has praised President Muhammed on his ongoing anti-corruption crusade but warned not to have any sacred cow, stating that anybody found culprit must be made to face the full wrath of the law.
The present administration was also challenged by the students group to place high priority education sector which according to association under the immediate past administration public education was poorly funded.
The student union said that it has resulted to both academics and nonacademic staffs always embarking on strike action.
However, an appeal has gone to the Buhari led government to look into the matter for urgent attention.
Making this call, the Coordinator of NANS, Zone D, Comrade Okikiola Ogunsola gave the warning during a press conference in commemoration of the International Students Day on Tuesday, November 17.

The event was held at the Iwe iroyin main hall, in Abeokuta with other officers from the zone in attendance.
The students group urged the president not to be partial in the fight against corruption in the country.
The apex student’s body expressed dissatisfaction with Supreme court judgment that ordered the stoppage of the trial of the Senate president, Bukanla Saraki at the Code of Conduct Bureau tribunal.
They opined that if such should be allowed to be swept under the carpet the anti-corruption crusade of the present administration should be seen as a toothless dog that can just bark but cannot bite.
The student group called for the reopening of the case, noting that it will serve as a deterrent to other who believe in acquiring properties in every given opportunities to serve the people.
Ogunsola said: “we want to state that we are keenly observing the anti-corruption war of the President, particularly the trial of the Senate president and others. We urged the President Buhari not to be partisan in the fight against corruption in the country.
“There should be no sacred cow,no individual or personality must escape justice. We want to say categorically at this juncture that the NANS,zone D is not happy with the way the Senate President trial was stopped by the Supreme court. We want Mr President to revisit the case and don’t allow it to be swept under the carpet,so as not to stain the crusade and campaign of Buhari led administration,which was key among why he was voted into power.
“We also welcome the effort at repositioning the anti-corruption agencies for better service delivery.”
The group also called on the nation Minister for Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola to as a matter of urgency to investigate the deplorable state of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway to ascertain the real problem militating against the completion of the road.
NANS reminded the federal government of the importance of the road saying that it “remains the only major road linking all southwestern states together.

They appealed to the Ministry of Works to invite contractors working on the road to find lasting solution to the ever busy road, while hinting that those travelling to their various home states during the coming yuletide season would have a cause to thank the government.
NANS also called on President Muhammed Buhari to intervene in the lingering fuel scarcity which is affecting the economy of the nation.
They advised the federal government to meet with the independent marketers and unravel all the grey area between them to enable citizenry enjoys the service of the product with ease and at the exact pump price.
Every November 17 has been set aside as the International Students Day by the International Students Council, London.
