Lagos State Government Is Not Heartless: The Truth About Proposed Demolition (PHOTOS)
Contrary to reports that the Lagos state government (LASG) will be carrying out a demolition exercise on Tuesday, November 10, at the Orishe community in Magodo, Naij.com can authoritatively report that the government will not be embarking on the process till the 15-day-ultimatum which was given the residents elapses.

According to news that made the rounds on Monday, November 9, the LASG reportedly sealed off no fewer than 50 buildings in the Magodo Phase 1 area.
Media reports said that the buildings that were sealed would be demolished on Tuesday, because they were not approved for construction.

Naij.com visited the area and can affirm that the buildings were sealed, but the demolition exercise will not be commencing today.
Resident who spoke to our reporters said the buildings were sealed to allow the state government verify their approved plans.
According to the dwellers, there are plans to demolish some houses erected on cleavage hills, however, the building will not be bulldozed until proper verification is done by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LSBCA).
The locals further stressed that some buildings which were erected in a mudslide zone are also to be removed in a bid to avert the dangers of a natural disaster.

It would be recalled that on Saturday, November 7, a mudslide incident killed four children at an apartment in the Otun Araromi Orishe community, Magodo, Isheri area of Lagos state.
