Oshiomhole: Governor sacks Petroleum Committee chairman
The Chairman of the Edo State Petroleum Monitoring Committee, Mr Soni Idahagbon was sacked by the governor for negligence and dereliction of duty
Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has sacked the Chairman of the state Petroleum Monitoring Committee, Mr Soni Idahagbon.
Idahagbon was sacked by the governor for negligence and dereliction of duty, The Nation reports.
Oshiomhole further ordered Idahagbon to hand over all government property in his possession within 24 hours.
Other members of the committee were also reportedly suspended by the governor.
They will however be screened afresh before being reconsidered for re-appointment.

Meanwhile, a group of elderly women, today, November 17, 2015, launched a protest in Benin City to express their anger at Oshiomhole’s recent anti-Igbinedion comments.
Oshiomhole recently accused the Esama of Benin, Gabriel Igbinedion and his son, former governor Lucky Igbinedion of conniving to loot the state’s resources.

The governor also said that he could drive Igbinedion out of the town if care was not taken.
In response however, Lucky Igbinedion described Oshiomhole as the biggest thief in Benin City.
