Muhammad Ali: Boxing legend attacks Trump and those using 'Islam to advance their own personal agenda'
Muhammed Ali has called on Muslims 'to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda'.
Some few days back Donald Trump told the whole about his plan to stop allowing Muslims into the United States.
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali criticized the Republican presidential front-runner plan thereby calling on Muslims 'to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda'.
Ali, one of the most famous Muslims in the world, issued a statement saying, 'I am a Muslim and there is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people in Paris, San Bernardino, or anywhere else in the world. True Muslims know that the ruthless violence of so called Islamic Jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion.'
He added: 'I believe that our political leaders should use their position to bring understanding about the religion of Islam and clarify that these misguided murderers have perverted people's views on what Islam really is.'
'We as Muslims have to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda. They have alienated many from learning about Islam. True Muslims know or should know that it goes against our religion to try and force Islam on anybody.
Ali's statement Wednesday, first reported by NBC News, did not identify Trump by name but was directed at 'presidential candidates proposing to ban Muslim immigration to the United States'.
Trump meanwhile appeared on CNN to talk about his ban, 'Many Muslim friends of mine are in agreement with me. They say, "Donald, you brought something up to the fore that is so brilliant and so fantastic,"' Trump told Don Lemon.
He went on to say that 'one of the most important people in Middle East' thanked him for his plan.
As for whether or not Trump feared how this might impact his own business dealings in the Middle East, he said; 'What I am doing right now is far more important than any business in the Middle East.'
