PDP Moves To Unseat Faleke In The House Of Reps, Describes Him As A Political Usurper
The Lagos state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mandated the House of Representatives leadership to take a stand on the current status of Honourable James Abiodu Faleke, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency.
Faleke, who contested as the running mate to the Late Abubakar Audu in the just concluded Kogi state governorship election, has been in the news for a while now, especially as he rejected his party’s choice to replace the late Audu, after the Igala-born prince died mid-way into the election results collation.

The chairman of the PDP in Lagos, Mr Tunji Shelle, in a statement today, December 20, described Faleke’s status in the House as that of a usurper.
Shelle said his position was informed by the fact that Faleke ran for the gubernatorial election in Kogi state, adding that he must have transferred his voting unit to the North central state, which he opines makes him ineligible to represent Ikeja Federal Constituency in the lower house.
According to Channels TV, the party argued that Faleke should not continue to represent Ikeja Constituency because his voting unit is presently in Kogi state.
The PDP went on to say that it was giving a 7-day ultimatum from Monday, December 21, to Faleke to declare his present place of voter’s registration and for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to clear the air onwhether it is right for Faleke to inter-change his polling units within a period of less than six months.
Parts of the statement read:“If the demand is not met within the period of this ultimatum, we shall use all means permitted and effective to reclaim the seat for Lagos State.”
According to Shelle, the current situation as regards Faleke is politically immoral and illegal, and is an open assault on democracy, even as he called on the Speaker of the House, Honourable Yakubu Dogara to intervene in the matter.
