President Buhari Makes One Final Move Against Boko Haram, Read His New Order
Reports have it that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) may have concluded plans to take over the battle against Boko Haram insurgents from the Nigerian military.
According to Leadership, the leadership of the security outfit will soon commence the deployment of 5,000 men and officers to northeast Nigeria to help tackle Boko Haram threat in the restive region.

Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd) reportedly issued this directive to the leadership of the NSCDC as part of government’s move to scrap insurgency in the region as well as help reclaim territories and secure the northeast from repeated attacks.
The officers drafted to the region, according to a source, will not only help stabilise the region, but help secure areas that have been liberated by the Nigerian army.
The source also confirmed that the security agency has the required expertise to undertake crisis management operations in the country.
“We have come a long way and a lot is expected of you. This is the time that the country needs you, especially in the areas of peace building in the northeast, to stabilise the areas that have been freed by the Nigerian army.
“You must rededicate yourself to training so as to perfect your responsibilities. I have no doubt that you are capable,” the source informed, adding that apart from providing adequate security in the region, the officers will also ensure safety of places of worship and critical government assets.

In a related development, the commandant general of the NSCDC, Abdullahi Muhammadu deployed about 10,000 personnel to ensure security before, during and after the Bayelsa election.
Among those deployed were three deputy commandant generals, four assistant commandant generals, many commandants and officers.
