Akwa United win Super Four against all odds

– Akwa United needed only a draw with tournament favorites Enyimba to win Super Four

– Akwa United qualified for the tournament after winning the 2015 Federation cup

– Nasarawa finished the pre-season tournament with eight points

Akwa United drew 0-0 with Glo Premier League champions Enyimba on Friday to win the 2016 pre-season Super Four tournament.

The 2015 Federation Cup winners won the tournament after finished top of the group while included Nasarawa United and Warri Wolves.

Akwa United drew with the Peoples Elephant at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo, in the final game of the tournament to prepare Nigeria’s representatives for the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

Akwa finished the tournament with nine points, Warri Wolves with seven points while Nasarawa finished with eight points.
