Chibok Girls: ‘Boko Haram has trained them as soldiers, given them guns,’ rescued captive says
The former captive, identified as Amira, also said that she had seen one of the Chibok girls kill a person.
According to a woman who was rescued from Boko Haram, the sect has trained the Chibok girls as soldiers and frequently uses them to discipline other captives.
The former captive, identified as Amira, also said that she had seen one of the Chibok girls kill a person, MSN reports.
According to her, the girls “were trained as soldiers and given guns.” “If you were stubborn and refused them, they can kill you,” she added.
Amira also said that the terrorists seemed to be possessed and sometimes drank the blood of their victims.
“They have a look in their eyes—they look like they are possessed. They would even drink the blood of the people they killed,” she said.
The over 200 Chibok girls were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from Chibok, Borno State in April 2014 and most of them remain in captivity.
An earlier report by BBC, which mirrors Amira’s claims, had it that the missing girls had been turned into fighters and one captive said she had seen some of them slit the throats of captives.
“They were Christian men. They [the Boko Haram fighters] forced the Christians to lie down. Then the girls cut their throats,” 17-year-old Miriam, who was at the time pregnant with a terrorist’s child, said.
Another Boko Haram victim, identified simply as Hajiya Aishatu, has said that the girls’ return is not in Nigeria’s interest adding that bringing them home would amount to “importing vampires” into the country.
