Lagos City Marathon: Kenyan runner emerges winner to clinch $50K prize
According to reports, Gwom would receive a N1,000,000 prize for his effort at the city marathon.
Kenyan runner, Abraham Kiptum has won the coveted prize of $50,000 as he emerged winner of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon in 2 hours, 16mins, 21secs.
The race which kicked off at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere and ended at Eko Atlantic on Victoria Island, saw the Kenyan emerging tops in the competition.
Kiptum's victory was followed by Nigerian, Emmanuel Gyang Gwom, who finished in 7th place.
According to reports, Gwom would receive a N1,000,000 prize for his effort at the city marathon.
The event was witnessed by the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, Access Bank MD, Herbert Wigwe, Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung and Olamide amongst several dignitaries.
