The first ever Lagos City Marathon was held in the early hours of Saturday, February 6. In the city of Lagos, Saturday is a day people dedicate to social gathering and parties like weddings, birthdays and so on.

Before the marathon race date was fixed, many couples have fixed their wedding dates as Saturday, February 6. One of such couples is this unidentified bride seen joining the marathoners by trekking to the marriage registry to sign the dotted lines. She was seen with her chief bridesmaid who was helping out with her flowing gown.

The bride was caught up in the restrictions put on some Lagos major roads for the just conclude Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

Meanwhile, the Lagos City Marathon has ended with Kenyan Marathoner- Abraham Kipton winning the inaugural edition of the race. Over 20,000 athletes, including 150 local and international world-class runners participated in the keenly contested race.

Citizens from Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco, Uganda, India, Cameroon, Asia and other parts of the world were very much in the city of Lagos to contest for the ultimate $50, 000 prize money.
