What Happens When A Stubborn Female Driver And An Angry Lorry Driver Meet On A Narrow Road?

Police had to be called in when a truck driver and a female motorist had a stand off that lasted for half an HOUR.

The woman  accused the lorry driver of hurling abuse at her in a half an hour when she tried to pass him on a narrow road.

Huge traffic queues started forming as Helen Martin, the woman and the other driver argued, with neither willing to move.

Helen Martin, who took photos of the stand-off from her car, was driving down the lane leading to a controversial biogas plant in Higher Fraddon, Cornwall when she met the huge lorry coming the other way.

She said: "There were cars behind me so I couldn't back up or get out of the way, but the driver of the lorry wouldn't move.

"When I tried to edge past him he screamed abuse and hurled four-letter words at me.

"I was feeling very threatened - he went absolutely mad and the language was terrible.

"It wasn't even whole sentences, just a load of abuse.

"I don't expect that sort of abuse from anyone."


Eventually traffic cops arrived at the scene to sort out the standoff, which started at 11.30am on Friday.
