– There are only 15 female members in the house of representatives
– Out of the 15, ten are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
There is no doubt that the political scene is male dominated. Despite the efforts to improve the performance of women in politics, there are only 15 female members of the house of representatives.
Out of these 15 female members, ten are under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while five are under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naij.com has compiled a list of these female members.

1. Nnenna Elendu-Ukeje : She represents Bende federal constituency Abia state under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
In 2007, she was the Representative for Bende federal constituency, Abia State under the PDP and re-elected in 2011.
She was re-elected to this position on May 29, 2011 and also served as the Chairman house committee on foreign affairs.
During the 2015 general elections she was also re-elected to the house of representative and once again appointed as the house committee chairman on foreign affairs.

2. Sodaguno Festus Omoni (Ogbia): The 60-year-old house of rep member represents Ogbia Federal Constituency of Abia State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Her Legislative Interests include environment, tourism, maternal healthcare, girl-child education and agriculture. He targets to make people oriented laws and also bring projects to his constituency.

3. Nkiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha: She represents Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency of Abia state.
She attended Isuochi Central School and did her secondary education at Isuochi secondary school/Ovim Girls where she obtained her F.S.L.C and WASC respectively.
She attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she obtained a diploma in social work/community development with a credit pass in 1988. In July, 2002, she was appointed the commissioner for Resource Management and Manpower Development in Abia State.

4. Rita Orji: The Chairman Committee Diaspora matters, representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Lagos state is a member of the house of representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The target achievements of the 46 year old are to alleviate the suffeering ones in poor constituencies like Ajegunle, poverty, deprivation, abuse of girl child among others.

5. Eucharia Azodo Okwunna: Eucharia Azodo Okwunna born 1961, is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Her Legislative Interests border on youth and women empowerment. She targets to to give effective and responsive representation to her constituency, and to try as much as possible to alleviate poverty especially on women and youths.

6. Evelyn Omavovoan Oboro: She is a PDP House of Rep. Member Candidate contesting in Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, Delta State Nigeria she hails from Delta State. She is 43 years old.

7. Beni Butmaklar Langtang: is the PDP House of Rep. Member Candidate contesting in Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency, Plateau State Nigeria she hails from Plateau State. She is 48 years old.

8. Omosede Igbinedion Gabriella: The House of rep member is representing Ovia South/West-Ovia North/East federal co in Edo state. She won under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

9. Stella Obiageli Ngwu: The 58 years old house of rep member represents Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani federal constituency of Enugu state under the platform of PDP. She is interested in youth and women empowerment.

10. Fatima Binta Bello: She is a member of the house of representive who won under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She represents Kaltungo/Shongom federal constituency, Gombe state. She hails from Gombe state.

11. Aishatu Jibril Dukku: The 46 years old representing Dukku/Nafada federal constituency in Gombe state won under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Her legislative interests are girl child education, youth empowerment, poverty alleviation and skills acquisition.

12. Olufunke Adedoyin: The member of the house of representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) represents Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero federal constituency, Kwara state. She hails from Kwara state. She is 53 years old.

13. Ayo Hulayat Omidiran: The 53 years old represents Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan federal constituency of Osun state. She won the NASS media most outstanding rep award for the South west in 2012.
