Rivers United striker, Frederick Obomate has been named the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) player of the month of February.
The striker scored three in three games for Rivers United winning them six points from nine and has ben rewarded with the award by the League Bloggers Awards (LBA).
He beat the likes of Shooting Stars player Wasiu Jimoh, Anthony Okpotu of Lobi Stars and Michael Olaha of Abia Warriors to win the award.
Coach of Abia Warriors, Kennedy Boboye have scooped the Manager for the month of February after guiding his side to an unbeaten run in February.
After an away 1-0 win over Heartland FC in a derby game, the Warriors drew 1-1 at the Onikan stadium with Ikorodu United and beat El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1 in front of home fans.
The former Sunshine Stars coach beat other nominees Fidelis Ilechukwu of MFM FC, Godwin Uwua of Lobi Stars and Mohammed Baba Ganaru of Kano Pillars to the award.
