Vivienne who was allegedly six weeks pregnant at the time, was said to have been confronted by a woman identified as Chinwendu Udomadu, who accused the deceased of kidnapping her daughter, Osinachi Udomadu.
Chinwendu claimed the girl Vivienne called Perpetual Ucheweaku, was her daughter who had been missing since 2014. Denying the claims, Vivienne said she had met the parents of the girl, and she was only her guardian. This sparked further argument, causing police officers to arrest the two women, allegedly taking them to the Akinpelu police station, where the DPO was said to have transferred the case to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Panti, Yaba, on the grounds that it was a criminal case that couldn’t be handled at his station.
Solomon said he had written a statement for his wife, while she was being detained in a cell, begging to switch places with his pregnant wife, whom he also said suffered from stressed induced seizures.
Here’s what he had to say:
“I told them she was pregnant and sick. I told them she had stress induced seizures, and I went upstairs to write the statement for me to swap places with her. But when I came back, they had thrown her into the cell. I even thought they put her behind the counter to wait for me to write the statement, but she was in the cell. Then I told them to release her because I already told them she was not feeling fine.”
According to Solomon, his wife died shortly after she was released the next day, March 16, after spending am entire night in the cell.
The spokesperson for the Lagos state police, Dolapo Badmos, denied Solomon’s claim, saying the deceased was not held in any cell.
Here’s what she had to say:
“She was never put in the cell and she was released by the ACP SCID immediately her husband said she was six weeks pregnant and has health challenges. The ACP later called and told me that she has been informed the woman fainted at home and was rushed to the hospital where she passed on.”
Badmos also said the teenager and Chinwendu who claims to be her mother, have been subjected to a DNA test by the court.
Here’s what she said:
“The police did nothing wrong in the matter. The suspects (Chinwendu and Chinemerem Udomadu) have been charged to court and the result of the DNA test is still being awaited.”
Hmmm…Na wa oo!
