Former minister of aviation, Osita Chidoka recently put smile on the faces of over 4,000 university applicants in his home town, Obosi Anambra state with his initiative to set up a computer based testing facility for applicants in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam.

Chidoka, 44, who is a former director general of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has an impeccable pedigree in Nigeria’s political firmament.

Speaking on the project, Chidoka said: ”My hope of making a Obosi a centre knowledge, ICT, Igbo music and language promotion got a boost with the successful conduct of the JAMB exam.
”However, we discovered very low basic computer appreciation skill amongst the students. Access to computers was a major obstacle amongst the students.”
On ways to counter the challenges observed, Chidoka stated that: ”We need community intervention, donate a computer(s) to your local secondary school and/or Organise basic computer appreciation training clinics.”
The former minister’s initiative has been commended by many indigenes of the town and other Nigerians.
The facilities at the centre are modern facilities
An Obosi-born businessman based in Onitsha, Afam Odimegwu told Naij.com on phone that he is not surprised by Chidoka’s initiative given his pedigree as an outstanding public servant while in government.

”He has always advocated for the progress and advancement of our land and our people, so it is no surprise that he is doing what he is doing now.
”My prayer for him is that he gets elevated to a position where he can not only impact the lives of Obosi people alone but also the lives of Anambra people and Nigerian in general,” Odimegwu said.
Chidoka who has served in various capacities in Nigeria, contributing his own quota to national development, recently enrolled at Baze University as a Law student despite his rich academic background.
