Editor’s note: At least 40 people were supposedly killed in Ukpabi Nimbo in the Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu state in the recent attack of Fulani herdsmen. The attack comes just one month after the deadly massacre in Agatu in Benue state. Ena Ofugara of the Scannews examines what if Enugu falls.

It is war. That is what it is. Britain did not wait for Hitler’s Germany to declare war on her. The minute Hitler attacked Paris, England declared war on Germany. That is the only reason the UK is a country till today. By now they would have been speaking Germany.

Look at your map of Nigeria and count the states between you and Fulani or between you and Agatu, Plateau, Taraba, Enugu. The more these states fall, the less safe you are. If you do not stand up for yourself now, the blood will be at your doorstep.

1. Demand presidential action. It must begin with securing of areas in Enugu and the Middle Belt.

2. The killers must be brought to book; else further killings will take place. Duck hunters never stop killing sitting ducks when there is no punishment. Killing is fun. Yes. People hunt for sport. Killing is fun.

3. Get your state governors to react. It is time to form vigilantes for protection

4. According to Nigerian law and law universally, sometimes self-defense needs attack. That is, attack can be the best form of defense. This is global truism. If there are a bunch of Fulanis with guns, they must be disarmed however necessary. Private citizens and strangers should not be armed in your community when you are not.

5. If the state government will not form vigilantes, all the black axe and Eiye and Buccaneer and Vikings etc that we are forming and killing ourselves in school, show your skill, defend your community. However, you had the guns in school, tell your community heads.

6. Politicians, it is not only elections your arm people. It is time to protect your people with the arms you buried in the land you bought that nobody knows is your own.

7. If you think I am joking, please go round Facebook and see exactly how Fulani kill people. Please look very well and know you are no different than those victims. It is a matter of time.

8. If Igbos and Yorubas, Middle Belt and Niger Delta cannot unite over this genocide, we deserve to be murdered in our sleep.
