The burial of a governor’s mother that got everyone talking (photos)

Last week, Ebonyi state stood still as the state governor, Engineer Dave Umahi hosted dignitaries across Nigeria for the burial of his late mother, Mrs. Margaret Umahi, aged 84 years.

The ceremony took place at Uburu community in Ohaozara local government area of the state on Friday, April 1.

The burial ceremony which was well attended by many eminent personalities brought together politicians from various political divide and walks of life.

The ceremony caught the attention of many Nigerians when pictures of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo chatting and dancing with ex-first lady, Patience Jonathan surfaced in the media.

President Muhammadu Buhari was represented at the ceremony by the secretary to the federal government, Babachir David Lawal while wife of the president; Hajiya Aisha Buhari was represented by Mrs Gimbia Dogara; wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Also in attendance were governors, ministers, former governors, senators, former Senate presidents, business moguls, traditional rulers and the clergy.
