It would be recalled that in the evening of Wednesday, May 11, Ibe Kachikwu, the minister of state for petroleum, announced partial deregulation of the down-stream sector of the petroleum industry by increasing the pump price of petrol to N145 per litre.
This caused mixed reactions of Nigerians, with the unions (NLC, TUC) promising an indefinite strike.
