Rescue mission: Nigerian police uses two helicopters to rescue abducted former minister

As the police intensifies its efforts at rescuing the Ogun state indigene, the abductors of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, kidnapped earlier last week in Ogun state, have demanded a N200 million ransom for her release.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the police public relations officer (PPRO) for Ogun state police command, said the two helicopters will assist at locating and rescuing Senator Anisulowo alive.

The one time Senator and ex minister was kidnapped on Wednesday, April 27, when she was returning from her farm, located at Sawonjo area of Yewa South local government area of Ogun state.
Premium Times confirmed that her abductors want as much as N200 million as payment for her ransom, before any thought of releasing her or setting her free.
While speaking to some newsmen regarding the efforts of the police at rescuing the former education minister, the PPRO stated that the Ogun state police force requested for the two helicopters, which were delivered to it on Saturday, April 30.
Adejobi said the helicopters had begun operation, as they are already being used as surveillance for the hideouts of the suspected abductors.
He added that high ranking police officers, led by Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Bala Hassan, were all parts of the rescue team.
CP Abdulmajid Ali, the Ogun state commissioner for police, while speaking on behalf of the rescue team, said all efforts are geared at finding and rescuing Senator Anisulowo alive as well as arresting her kidnappers.
