Victor Osimhen was on fire as Nigeria’s u-20 boys defeated the country’s Olympic team 2-1 in a friendly match played in Abuja on Thursday May 12.

The heart-lifting result has come less than a week to the u-20 boys’ departure to Burundi for a 2017 CAF u-20 Cup of Nations qualifying match.

Daniel Etor scored for the Olympics –bound Dream Team in the 22nd minute off a powerfully –struck free –kick, but Funsho Bamgboye, who scored the last goal of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile equalized for the Flying Eagles 10 minutes later.

Victor Osimhen scored the winner for the U-20 side in the 66th minute.

A fluid move from the centre orchestrated by team captain Kelechi Nwakali found the gangling Victor Osimhen who wasted no time in slotting a low shot to the far corner beyond the reach of the Kaduna United goalkeeper.

On Thursday May 19, the Burundi Football Federation confirmed that the clash between that country’s U-20 squad and the Flying Eagles will take place at the Prince Louis Stadium in Bujumbura on Saturday, May 21, starting from 3pm Burundi time (1pm Nigeria time).
