The shocking cost of Niger Delta militant attacks in southern Nigeria has been revealed.
Reports have emerged that N2.6 billion in revenue has been lost due to militant attacks in the last few weeks in Delta state.
Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development commission (DESOPADEC), Victor Wood yesterday confirmed the figure while speaking to journalists in Asaba yesterday.
She did however go on to add that the figure was an estimate.
While appealing to the restive youths to put an end to the destruction of pipeline installations and facilities, Wood expressed concern about possible future sabotage attacks in the state.
He noted that as long as the campaign of economic sabotage continues, there is no way multinational oil companies would establish oil companies in the state.
