Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the sale of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United.

The Armenia international will become new United boss Jose Mourinho’s third signing, following the £30m capture of Villarreal defender Eric Bailly and the free transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Dortmund had previously insisted Mkhitaryan was not for sale, but after rejecting United’s opening offer of £19m, they have accepted the improved bid for a player with only one year left on his contract.
