A High Court in Abuja today, July 15 denied the bail application of Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Omisore, 58, had filed an application for bail, after he was arrested by the EFCC over an alleged N60bn fraud.

Omisore had claimed his fundamental human rights were trampled upon by the anti-graft body in a suit filed by his lawyer and respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chris Uche.
Uche’s argument yesterday, July 14, while making his submission at the court, was that the warrant of arrest and the remand obtained by the EFCC was ‘mere authority’ and not in line with the Nigerian constitution.
He pleaded with the court to grant Omisore bail pending his arraignment and to order for his production in court at the next adjourned date.
Counsel to the EFCC, Mr Takor Ndifon objected to the Uche’s demands, adding that Omisore based on court order.
At the court hearing today, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi ruled that Omisore’s bail application was premature and incompetent, asking his counsel to wait for the expiration of the 14 day remand order granted by a Court of Coordinate Jurisdiction before exercising his right to bail.
The judge also warned that any attempt to grant the bail application will be tantamount to vacating a subsisting order.
