OPC leader to Nigerians: Don’t complain of hardship, you voted for change

– The ‘Change’ mantra of the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is losing its appeal 

– Many Nigerians have expressed their frustration at been hoodwinked by the All Progressives Congress (APC)

– Founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr Fredrick Fashuen says Nigerians should accept their fate

Nigerians have been advised to live with the hardship that is currently bedeviling the country by Dr Fredrick Fasehun, founder of the OPC.

Dr Fasheun who was speaking to Daily Sun in an interview, said those who voted for change should stop complaining about the economic situation in the country and accept their fate.

He further stated that they should be ready to endure whatever comes with their choice.

Fasheun was known supporter of former President Goodluck Jonathan before the 2015 general elections.

”Nigerians voted for Buhari. They voted for change. The hardship and suffering they are going through now is part of that change. They should not be complaining.

”Instead of complaining, they should be praying for Buhari. Ni­gerians should pray for him, and for Buhari himself Nigerians were cheering him initially but now they are getting despondent.

”Buhari should not wait until Nigerians start jeering at him as a result of failed promises,” Dr Fasheun said.

Asked about his assessment of the Buhari administration so far, Dr Fasheun said it is too early to comment on the president’s performance, adding that the government should be given more time.

He however urged the president to buckle up especially on the issues of electricity which he lamented has gone from bad to worse.

His words: ”Power supply has not been encouraging. Many industries are closing down while millions of jobs are be­ing lost to erratic power supply.

”Many Nigerians that are self-employed including artisans like weld­ers, hair dressers and others who depend on efficient power supply to sustain their small scale ventures have been rendered jobless as a result of poor power supply.

”This has been a big minus on the part of the administration. Increasing unemployment and job losses occasioned by poor power supply should be a source of concern to the president and his team.”

Meanwhile, OPC leader, Otunba Gani Adams has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to restructure Nigeria.

According to Otunba Adams, regions must begin to develop at their own pace and not at the pace of the federal government.
