Ahmed Musa, Isaac Success makes list of EPL record breakers
English Premier League clubs have been breaking banks to buy quality players in the current transfer window.
These clubs have spent so much that they have broken their records to purchase players to boost their squad for the EPL 2016/2017 season.
Here are the 10 players that broke club records.
10 Steven Defour: The vastly experienced Belgian broke club record newly promoted club Burnley with a £7.5million move from Anderletch.
The 28-year-old midfielder have spent two years with the Juplier Champions and also had spells with FC Porto.
9. Isaac Success: Watford had to pay the price for the young Nigerian striker from sister club Granada where the 20-year-old has been tearing defence apart in the Spanish La Liga.
The Hornets have invested £13million for the player who is yet to feature for the senior national team of Nigeria.
8. Jordan Ibe: Since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool, the England international has been out favour and was surplus to requirements at Anfield.
However, Bournemouth coughed out £15million for the pacy 20-year-old whose seems to have many more years to flourish.
7. Nacer Chadli: Chadli has never been able pin-down a starting at Tottenham since signing from Twente in 2013 and with the blistering form of Harry kane, the Moroccan born Belgian had to look other ways.
West Bromwich Albion has just secured the signature of the 27-year-old and he has been assured of playing first team football with the Baggies.
6. Ahmed Musa: Claudio Ranieri successfully landed the Ahmed Musa after admitting he has been an admirer of the speedy winger who spent four successful seasons with CSKA Moscow in Russia.
With Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez in the squad Ranieri did not mind to go the extra mile for the Nigerian international for a fee of £16million to bolster the Foxes for the title defence and the Champions League.
5. Andre Ayew: The versatile Ghanian midfielder who can play in any position in the front line and midfield had just spent a season with Swansea before making a move to West Ham.
The Hammers broke a £20million club record for the former Marsielle man who will be guided by their charismatic coach Slaven Bilic.
4. Sofiane Boufal: A player who has just played one full top flight season in the Ligue 1 caught the eye of Southampton coach Claude Puel.
After the sale of Sadio Mane to Liverpool, Puel paid £21million for reinforcements in the attack for the 20-year-old who scored 12 goals for Lille last term.
3. Yannick Bolasie: It was no surprise that Ronald Koeman paid for the highly rated Congolese winger who does not stop at taking on defenders while playing at Selhurst for Crystal Palace.
Koeman paid £25million for the highly priced player and Everton have shown that they are relenting at getting a place in Europe next with seven point from a possible after three games played.
2. Christian Benteke: One would wonder a player who had spent so much time on the bench scoring a few goal should be tagged £32million by Liverpool.
Crystal Palace did not mind paying exorbitantly for the Belgian as Alan Pardew believes his team would get the results from the purchase of Benteke.
1. Paul Pogba: The most anticipated transfer and the world’s most expensive buy happened in this summer with Pogba’s multi million pound move to Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho spent a whopping £89million for the French star from Juventus and has been making waves with the two matches he has played so far.
