Punch reports that MASSOB, reacting to the passage of the bill into law, which categorises grazing with arms in Ekiti state as terrorism, said on Tuesday, August 30, that the enactment of such law is needed in Enugu state where herdsmen attacks are becoming regular.
MASSOB spokesman, Samuel Edeson, faulted Governor Ugwuanyi of Enugu state for not doing enough to prevent herdsmen attacks in parts of the state.
He said: “Enugu State Governor, Ugwuanyi, should emulate Fayose because herdsmen attacks are becoming regular in the state.
“The people of Enugu State are under attack; they are being killed and the governor is not taking action.

“The attack happened only once in Ekiti State and Fayose responded immediately. What Fayose did is laudable; it is a very good development.”
Similarly, president of the Ohanaeze Youth Council, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, called for the anti-grazing law to be replicated in all parts of the country.
He called on south-east governors to do same in their states.
“The law, if implemented in the South-East, would check the violent activities of herdsmen in the zone, and same applies to other parts of the country where the herdsmen are wreaking havoc on their host communities,” he said.
Meanwhile, the national coordinator of the OPC, Gani Adams has described anti-grazing bill signed into law by the Ekiti governor as highly commendable.
Gani Adams said the law is a good step in the right direction and should be applauded by all right-thinking people across the country.
