The trio including  Gitto Costruzioni Generali Nigeria Limited, Oludare Alaba and Ephraim Zeri (director of contracts) were alleged to have diverted N2 billion mapped for the dualization of section IV of the East West Road.

But the re-arraignment of the accused persons was stalled due to Orubebe’s ill-health.

When the matter was called up before Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of a Federal Capital Territory High Court, counsel to the former minister F. Zimhuan told the court that Orubebe was rushed to the hospital following a domestic accident.

Zimhuan said: “His absence in court today is not deliberate. He suddenly took ill. He had domestic accident affecting his ankle and wrist. He is hypertensive and the cumulative effect was that they had to rush him to the hospital.
