7 unbelievable deals that happened on transfer deadline day
Following the close of the 2016 summer transfer window, NaiJ,com Sports looks at those unexpected deals that happen on transfer deadline day.
1. Jack Wilshere to Bornemouth: When it was announced that Jack Wilshere had submitted a transfer request to Arsenal, many believed the injury prone midfielder would have no suitors.
Alas 21 clubs contacted Wilshere to take him on loan including FC Porto and AS Roma but Bournemouth ultimately won the race.
Arsenal’s home grown player would need to stay injury free and play consistently to achieve his obvious potential under Eddie Howe.
2. Moussa Sissoko to Tottenham: Sissoko had a stormer of an Euro 2016 final which led to many clubs taking note including Arsenal, Tottenham and even Real Madrid.
It is quite comical that he repeatedly said he was interested in an Arsenal move only for him to join fierce rivals Tottenham. A Real coup for Spurs who sold midfielder Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason.
3. Enner Valencia: Fans of the Premier League would be surprised that West Ham’s Valencia could leave the club for Everton on a loan deal. Am sure even you did not see that coming…
A terrific player, he can play across the front four positions and he would provide adequate back up and competition for the like of Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkely, Gerard Deleafou, Aaron Lennon, Arouna Kone and Kevin Mirallas.

4. Mario Balotelli to Nice: Its funny to think that the 26 year old has already played for Liverpool, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Manchester City in what has been an event filled career.
The striker did not join Nice on loan, rather he saw his contract terminated at Liverpool and joined the French club on a free transfer. How the mighty have fallen.
5. David Luiz to Chelsea: This is one unbelievable deal. David Luiz was not even Chelsea’s first choice center-back signing – he was their third.
He left the club two years ago for PSG in a world record fee for a defender and now he is back. Really weird on all levels and many Chelsea fans are not sure the club icon should have been brought back.
6. Joe Hart to Torino: Though this was a deal long time coming, no one ever imagined Joe Hart – Man City’s number one and legend and England’s undisputed first choice – would think of leaving England let alone sign for a club like Torino.
No offence to the club bit Torino are no longer a power house in football and Joe Hart has taken a huge challenge on himself to help the Turin club qualify for Europe. Good luck Joe…
7. Juan Cuadrado to Juventus: Cuadrado was never a success at Chelsea so his move back to Juventus makes a lot of sense. What doesn’t make much sense is the fact that the player has joined the Serie A giants on a THREE YEAR LOAN DEAL. What???!!!
A two year loan deal makes sense for many players and club but three years???
Why not permanently sell the player who spent last season on loan at Juve and would send the next three at the same club??? What made it even more baffling was that the deal was announced on transfer deadline day!!!
Weirdest and most unbelievable of them all!!!
