Justify confidence of electorate, Emir tells politicians

The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, has called on political office holders to discharge their duties with the fear of God and justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate.

Bashar made the call on Friday when he received Dr Haliru Bala, the Commissioner representing North-west zone at National Population Commission (NPPC).

He advised indigent politicians, who got political appointments and elective positions,to use their positions to contribute their quota to socio-economic development of the state and the nation at large.

Earlier, Bala had said he was at the palace to formally inform the emir of his new appointment and to also congratulate him on the successful completion of the 2016 Hajj.

In a related development, the emir also received other political appointees including Abubakar Nayaya, the state Chairman of Local Government Service Commission and Alhaji Yusuf Haruna, the state Special Adviser on Political Affairs.
