Bad Road Cuts-Off Another Community In Lagos (Photo)

For sometime now, residents of Ijagemo have been unable to drive in and out of the village, no thanks to breakdown of two vehicles at ‘Iya Tunrayo’ area which is the only link-road to the village.

First, it was a tipper lorry  that was  hooked in the black spot, while a sport utility vehicle, SUV also got stucked on the opposite side.

The SUV which got stucked, due to the bad state of the road.

For about a week now, motorists have abandoned their vehicles at home or close to scene and then the trek several kilometers out of the area before going on public transport to their destination.

After five days, the tipper lorry was towed but the SUV spent extra one day.

Meanwhile some youths have moved to the spot and turned it to ‘emergency road menders’ haven, filling it with the soil available in the surrounding.

The boys seized the opportunity in collecting token sums from motorists.

Few weeks ago, it was reported that a serious fire incident occurred within the area due to activities of illegal bunkerers.
