Rio Olympics: Siasia under attack over Dream Team’s loss to Colombia

Nigerians have singled-out Coach Samson Siasia as being responsible for Dream Team VI’s 2-0 loss to Colombia in their final group game at the ongoing Rio Olympics.

Recall that the tactician had stated that he will rest key players for the game, since Nigeria had already qualified for the quarter-final, having defeated Japan and Sweden in their opening two games.

Colombia defeated Nigeria 2-0 in a match many described as one-sided as the South Americans navigated in and out of the Nigerian area all though the game.

Gutierrez latched unto a superb pass from Pabon and pokes home to put the South Amreicans ahead in the fourth minute.

Pabon doubled the lead for the Colombians later on from the spot after goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi brought down Precaido in the box.

The very lackadaisical Dream Team would have conceded more as Colombia were clearly the better side especially in the second half, but Samson Siasia has been fingered as the culprit responsible for the poor performance.
