Infinix Launches Zero Two Phone In Lagos, Vows To Dominate Nigerian Market

Infinix brand of mobile phones has launched ‘Infinix zero two’, a new model in its phone series to the market, Naij.com can report.

The event attended mostly by students on Thursday, June 4 at the main auditorium of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Akoka, Lagos, was tagged, “Zero2Hero” as the story of the brand implies since their launch into the Nigerian market in 2012.

According to the MD of Infinix, Benjamin Jiang, the new Infinix zero two comes with a newly-improved technology called the ‘kevlar’.

This, he said: “is one of the characteristics of Nigerians as we have come to discover that no matter the circumstance, Nigerians are always tough and always find their way out of every ugly situation.

“The technology employed in making this phone stands out and it will definitely match up with phones of the same grade in the market and profer more options to our numerous users”.

Jiang explains further that in just over ten months after making its entrant into the Nigerian market, over one million copies had been sold adding that, “in one single day, we sold about 30, 000 pieces of our product.

“We hope to remain in Nigeria forever”.

Peter Zhou, head of Infinix marketing department also noted with pride, that the new zero two Infinix is designed to give Nigerians maximum satisfaction at a minimal and affordable rate.

The Shanghai China native, who spoke with Naij.com after the event, believes that if the company could achieve so much in the Nigerian market within a short period, the future of their products in Nigeria is almost guaranteed.

“We are pleased with the feedbacks we have gotten from the Nigerian market so far and they are by far one of our biggest markets in the world.

“With the new technology of kevlar on the new Infinix zero two phone which is what was used to make I-phone 6, I believe that this new product is at a fair bargain for Nigerians,” Zhou noted.

On how and where the phones can be purchased, the Chinese disclosed that it has adopted the e-commerce mode of transaction where buyers use the various online portals to make their transaction.

“The Infinix zero two phone is available on Konga and Jumia as our two major retail outlets at affordable rate of N35,000.

“This price will remain that way unlike the usual practice on the Nigerian market where the prices of phones reduce after a specific period of time,” Jiang explained.
