Breaking: Bomb Blast Rocks IDP Camp In Yola

A bomb blast has rocked the warehouse of an Internal Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, according to the officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast, but there are speculations that Boko Haram is likely to be behind the blast.

Meanwhile, reactions have trailed the bombing in Yola, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said in a Facebook post

“I’m deeply saddened by the bombing incident at the Yola IDP camp today. Only persons with hearts of evil could do this.

“The Yola IDP camp is the largest in Nigeria, and refuge to thousands of people who fled the insurgency from Borno and Yobe.

The former VP said many people he knew were working as volunteers in the camp, including staff and students of AUN, who sustained minor injuries in today’s blast.

He said that: “Today’s attack is an attempt to break the spirits of the people who came to seek refuge. The perpetrators will know no peace.” Adding: “We refuse to be broken. We will win the war against terrorism. We shall overcome!former vice president.”

The Jihadist sect, though said to be weak and mortally wounded, has been coming up with more guerrilla tactics to deal blows on the face of the Nigerian peace.

Terrorist attacks are not a phenomenon particular to any country or region of the world, but a nightmare besetting the world. It is recalled that on this day about 14 years ago, there was a terrible terrorist attack on America, an attack that left not less than 3000 people dead with several 100s injured.

Today, the United States remembers in pains, and celebrates the lives and times of all those who were cruelly and unjustly murdered when two American Boeing 767 planes, crashed receptively into the north and south tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, the former loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel.

The attack by Al’ Qaeda is described as one of the worst in the history of terrorism.
