Herbalist, Welder Arrested For Attempting To Exhume Corpse
Officers of the Nigerian Legion, Ado Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun state arrested two culprits on Sunday, September 13, for attempting to dig up a corpse.
The two suspects have been identified as Oke Akindele, a 50-year-old herbalist and Timothy Oniyide, a 19-year-old welder.
The Legion acting on a tip off, went to Igan Alade community in the state, where the incident was reported.

Second Lt. Olorumleke Oluwaseyi, the Squad Leader of the Nigerian Legion, speaking to PM News said that it took them hours to arrest the culprits while one of them got away.
The squad leader said: “We picked Timothy, who is the principal suspect at their house where the crime was conducted while his friend, Monday ran away upon seeing our men. We have arrested his wife and still in search of him.”
During interrogation, at the headquarters of the Nigerian Legion at Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, it was revealed that Timothy and some of his friends had gone to the herbalist over the weekend to collect another medicine before they were apprehended.
The herbalist, who is from Benin Republic said, Timothy came to meet him wanting medicine that would make him bold and fearless. He said he gave him and 6 others a powder to put into an incision to be made on their chest and back adding that he never gave anyone soap to bath with on a corpse.

However, Timothy contradicting the herbalist’s claims, said the herbalist gave him the soap to bath with inside a dug space on the grave.
He said he went to meet the herbalist to give him something that would make wealthy because his business was failing.
In another development, police operatives in Lagos state have arrested a herbalist who is suspected to be the ring leader of a robbery gang, recovering $118,000 and £50,000 from him.
