Afenifere‎, Youths Laud Fayemi’s Ministerial Confirmation

A Yoruba Socio-cultural and political group, Afenifere‎, has said that the confirmation of the former governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi as minister is a commendable step.

In a statement released in Ado Ekiti, the leader of the group, Senator Ayo Fasanmi and the chairman of the group in the state, Ibidapo Awojolu described the appointment of Fayemi as the right peg in a round hole.

Afenifere urges the minister designate to bring his wealth of experience on board and do everything possible to protect the interest of the state and pray to God to grant him the wisdom and strength
needed for excellent performance under the leadership of President Buhari.

Also, the youths of Ekiti state have applauded the appointment in recent times. The youths expressed no doubt in the ability of the former governor to perform creditably well in whatever ministry allocated for him to oversee.

This was made known to our correspondent in Ado Ekiti by the chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), ‎Ekiti state chapter which is the apex body of all youth organisations in Nigeria.

Also, ‎the Federation of Ekiti State Students Union (FESSU) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) explained that the former governor is an illustrious son and pride of Ekiti.

“We know and believe he will put in his best in delivering good governance in whichever role assigned to him in the federal executive council and will not let down the People of Ekiti and Nigeria at
large,” the statement reads in part.

The Senate on October 14, confirmed 18 ministers which includes Fayemi at the ongoing ministerial screening exercise.
