Anambra: Why APGA Chieftain Commends Governor Obiano
Following the state pardon Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state granted some 26 prisoners to mark the 55 years independence anniversary, a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) board of trustees in the state, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has eulogised the governor for the amnesty, Daily Sun reports.

Ezeonwuka made this commendation at the reception of some members of the Association of Igbo Youths Initiative Movement (AIYIM).
The chief lauded the Igbo youth group for the role it played on sensitisation of the people of Anambra during the voter registration.
The group had visited the Chief Ezeonwuka at his Rojenny Tourist/Games Village, Oba, to ask for his permission to reorganise the group.

The chief then admonished the group saying that it should at all times remember that the power to elect credible people into elective offices is now in the people’s hands warning the youths not to subject themselves to being used as object of mayhem.
He said: “A true Igbo youth must be seen to be in his best behaviour. The era of harassing innocent people is over. Don’t forget that the AIYIM was founded on the basis that its members must be law-abiding and must defend and protect the lives and property of every law-abiding citizen living in Igbo land.
“Extortion, intimidation, illegal detention, flogging, reprisal attacks, mob action, and illegal seizure of people’s properties are not the foundation on which AIYIM was founded. All members must desist from such acts.
“AIYIM must partner with law enforcement agencies to stop these notorious behaviours, which many hoodlums have been practicing in Igbo land.

“AIYIM, under Ogirisi must be the example of how our youths must behave. You should engage in skills acquisition, give information to law enforcement agencies as the quickest way to flush out criminals, sensitize the people to be politically aware that their vote is now their power to turn things around for the better.”
He added that the government of Anambra state would not fold its hands and allow anyone or group to destabilise the state.
Calling on the youths and all indigenes of the state to support the state government, Ezeonwuka described Governor Obiano as a messiah sent by God.

He said: “This is the only Igbo governor that performed the long awaited burial of Biafra War heroes in January and decreed that every January 12 will now be Remembrance Day. He has also taken APGA to the next level and with the way he is going, the party will soon control the entire south east region.”
Meanwhile, the party’s chairman, Victor Ikechukwu Oye, in an exclusive interview with Naij.com had spoken on issues ranging from APGA’s chances at the upcoming Kogi and Bayelsa polls to some interesting remarks regarding the Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha’s, recent outburst concerning on the party.
