BREAKING! Police Confirm Recovery Of N27 Million From Festac Banks’ Robbers
Naij.com can authoritatively report that the robbers who attacked Access and Diamond banks in Festac Town, Lagos, left about N27million in the banking hall before fleeing.
This was confirmed to our correspondent by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Lagos state, Joseph Offor, who stated that contrary to reports that the police did not arrive before the exit of the robbers, officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) engaged the thieves for about 30 minutes.

Earlier reports indicated that about 50 armed men, all dressed in Army uniforms invaded the banks and carted away money in three different sacks through a canal in the neighbourhood.
The police spokesperson in Lagos has now reacted to the incident, saying: “It was when the heat was too much on them that they left N27 million and 240 rounds of ammunition inside the bank and fled.
“Our officers engaged them for about thirty minutes, that was why they left without that amount of money. If all was well with them, would they have left the money behind?”
Although the money has been reportedly deposited in another branch of Diamond bank in Festac, the whereabouts of the robbers is yet to be ascertained.
