One man’s trash can be another man’s treasure. It’s true for the tribes of the Omo Valley in Ethiopia. They use garbage like broken watches and bottle caps to create beautiful fashionable headdresses and wigs. Modern civilization is slowly creeping into the Omo valley. So the locals have gradually been gaining access to new additions to their outfits, like football jerseys, hair clips and colorful wires. French photographer Eric Lafforgue spent a lot of time capturing this jewellery. The results are amazing!
