Femi Kuti: Afrobeat musician working on album
He disclosed on Twitter that he planned to finish recording this new project before the end of the year.
Femi Kuti is back in the studio working on his eighth album.
On October 23, the leader of the Positive Force band tweeted: “Starting phase 2 of my album 2day. Going quite well”.
Kuti will be working with sound engineer and producer Sodi of Label Maison.
He disclosed on Twitter that he planned to finish recording this new project before the end of the year. He also revealed that the album was slated to be released in the first quarter of 2016.
The afrobeat musician is recording a live studio album. His last album called "No Place for My Dream" was released in 2013.
Fondly called ‘Shoki shoki’ by some of his fans, he has been nominated in Grammy Awards' World Music category four times: in 2003, 2010, 2011 and 2013 respectively.
