There's a huge disconnection because the need to be wanted, feel masculine or feminine, attractive isn't existent in your marriage.
When a marriage is sex-starved, then there's a major disconnect on all level between the husband and wife. These couples don't spend time together, they stop being friends which places the marriage at risk of infidelity and divorce.

"The primary cause of a sex starved marriage is simple", Davis says.
"In a marriage, the person with the lower sex drive controls the marriage," she explains.
Married couples arrange their lives, try to create time for everything but rarely talk about something important to their relationship. They hardly create time for sex.
