Nigeria At 55: Monuments In Nigeria That Remind Us Of Independence (PHOTOS)

As Nigeria marked her 55th anniversary as a nation yesterday, October 1, there are some historical monuments in the country that reflect the struggles of the nation’s independence from Britain.

Naij.com photojournalist went around town to get photos of the monuments that are part and parcel of Nigeria’s history in the nation’s former capital and now commercial capital, Lagos.

Unfortunately, some of them have been somewhat abandoned by successive governments, instead of been preserved for the upcoming generations.
