Alexis Sanchez: Arsene Wenger refutes reports of new contract talks with forward
Wenger has denied the reports saying that Arsenal are ‘not in a hurry’ to tie down the Sanchez
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has refuted reports that the club are close to agreeing a new contract extension with Alexis Sanchez.
According to Daily Mail, Arsenal kicked off negotiations with the forward’s reps earlier in the season and both parties are about to agree on the new contract.

Sanchez joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2014 and helped the London side to retain their FA Cup, scoring in the final against Aston Villa in May 2015.
He currently has two-and-a-half years left to run on his current £130,000-per-week deal and the report say that the Gunners want to ensure the 26-year-old does not enter the final two years of the deal.
Wenger has however denied the reports saying that Arsenal are ‘not in a hurry’ to tie down the forward.
The report also suggests that Arsenal are also on the verge of agreeing an extension with star midfielder Mesut Ozil.
Ozil’s new contract, the report say, will see him earn more than his £140,000-per-week wage keeping him as the top earner at the club.
"We have not started to talk about that with Mesut Ozil," Wenger said at his press conference ahead of Saturday's trip to West Brom.
"[Sanchez] is the same situation - at the end of the year they have two-and-a-half years' contract.

"We have some time. We are not in a hurry. We want of course for them to stay in the club, and we'll start negotiations at some stage, but at the moment we have not started."
