Isabel Dos Santos: Angolan billionaire unseats Folorunso Alakija as the richest black woman in the world

For this year’s Forbes list of the richest people on the African continent, there are 48 men and 2 women.
On the list, Folorunso Alakija, who toppled Oprah Winfrey to become the richest black woman in the world back in 2013, is unseated as the richest woman in the world by Angolan billionaire, Isabel Dos Santos, who comes in 8th with an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion, while Alakija drops to the 13th spot with an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion.

Dos Santos is the eldest daughter of Angolan president, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, and is now considered by Forbes to not only be the richest woman in Angola but also in Africa. Her $3.4 billion makes her the richest black woman in the world.
