Emmanuel Adebayor: Watford captain unsure over signing of striker

Deeney who has scored just one goal this season has expressed fears over the Emmanuel Adebayor’s temperament

Watford captain Troy Deeney is unsure if he wants the club to sign Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Togo International has been without a club since he was released by Tottenham in September keen to remain in the English Premier League.

Reports emerged last week that Watford manager Quique Sánchez Flores was interested in signing the Togolese striker to strengthen his strike force of Deeney and Ighalo.

Deeney who has scored just one goal this season has expressed fears over the striker’s temperament.

“As a striker I’d happily say go somewhere else please mate,” Deeney joked when asked about Adebayor during an interview with talkSPORT.

 

“This is the first of it I’ve heard to be fair so I’m not sure.

“He is a good player but there are questions marks about his temperament. Our owner isn’t naïve enough to bring in any bad eggs in so I think they’d assess that angle if they were considering to bring him in.

“But his quality is there for everyone to see. If you can get that out of him then you’ve got a top player on their hands.”
