EXCLUSIVE: READ How Nigeria Defeated Swaziland
The former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida, has revealed strategy behind Nigeria’s victory against Swaziland at the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Tuesday November 17.
Goals by Simon Moses and Efe Ambrose helped the Eagles go through to the next stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier after they defeated the Sihlangu Semnikati 2 – 0 on aggregate.
Babangida explained that Sunday Oliseh had to change his strategy and infuse aggressive players which eventually payed-off for the team.

“It was not an easy game,” he started.
“We came into this game with a different approach which countered the plans of our opponents.
“As you can see, we played a lot better. We had a couple of chances which we lost, but we came back strong in the second half to bury the game.

The ex-international however pleaded with Nigerians to take it easy with the Sunday Oliseh-led squad.
“I implore all Nigerians to be patient. This is a very young team; also there are no more minnows in African football. We will surely get better.”
Babaginda played over 30 games for his national side, including four at the 1998 World Cup in France.
He participated in two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and won the 1996 Olympics with Nigeria. Babangida made his international debut in 1994. He lost his place in the squad right before the 2002 World Cup. After a two-year lay-off from international football, Babangida was recalled to the Nigeria team for the 2004 African Cup of Nations preparations in Tunisia.
