INEC: Kogi Governorship Supplementary Election Will Go On

According to INEC’s Deputy Director of Voters Education and Publicity, Nick Dazang, the commission’s has already prepared its supplementary budget for the election.

He stated that INEC was not ready to either postpone or cancel the election. He said: “We are prepared for the election and we are not thinking of either postponing it or cancelling it. In fact, we have prepared a supplementary budget for the election.

“The budget is for the conduct of the election and it will cover expenses such as accommodation, allowance and other logistics for the election.”

He also affirmed that the commission has not given the APC any deadline for now to replace the late Prince Audu, the scoop reports.

“We are not talking about deadline for now, but we expect the party to submit the name of its candidate by December 1,” Dazang noted.

The  was leading his opponent Captain Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party by 41,353 votes. The INEC declared the poll inconclusive and scheduled a supplementary election in 91 polling units for Saturday, December 5.
