Kogi Stalemated Poll: No Replacement For Audu Yet, Says APC
Less than five days to rerun election in Kogi state, the ruling All Progressives Congress has disclosed that it has yet picked a replacement for its late candidate, Abubakar Audu.
The fresh information put to rest rumour making the rounds that the APC had substituted the late candidate with Yahaya Bello who was the party first runner up when it held governorship primary election.
Bello name as likely replacement for Audu spread in the state following the decision of the national leadership of the party to conduct fresh primary election.

Also, the late politician running mate, James Faleks and his son, Mohammed Audu have shown interests to becoming the number one citizen of the state.
According to the acting national publicity secretary of the party, Timi Frank in a chat with Vanguard on Saturday, November 28 stated that no decision as to the replacement of the late Audu has been made by the national leadership of the APC.

“We are still consulting on the issue. We would take a final stand on the issue of Audu’s replacement on Monday and we are definitely going to issue a statement on the issue,” Frank said.
In a related development, political associates of the late Audu had rejected the nomination of Bello and declared support for Audu’s running mate Faleke.
They explained that Audu issued the instruction on his death bed, adding that Audu believed that Faleke was in the best position to carry on with his vision and warned against any attempt to choose another candidate.
