Speakership: READ Who Chief Whip Is Holding Responsible For Gbajabiamila’s Loss
The failure of Femi Gbajabiamila to emerge as the Speaker of the House of Representatives has been attributed to God’s will rather than electoral anomalies.
This was the submission of the chief whip of the house, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, who dismissed speculations making rounds that loyalists of Speaker Yakubu Dogara were plotting to replace the embattled Gbajabiamila, the majority leader of the house.
In a chat with Daily Sun, Doguwa revealed that Gbajabiamila’s inability to emerge as Speaker was an act of God.

The chief whip is being mooted as a replacement for the representative of Lagos state at the house, after he had summoned an emergency meeting of the House All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus last Tuesday to find a way out of the endless leadership tussle.
“Members were fed up. It was as a result of that action that it happened. Officially as a member of the House and as the Chief Whip, I have no interest in Gbajabiamila’s position.
“There was no such plans. But you cannot stop such a speculation when you continue to create an unnecessary vacuum. Nobody has approached me officially to ask me of my intentions to fill Gbajabiamila’s position.

“The House Leader is my good friend and we have always remained that,” Doguwa said.
