Dickson pointed out that the All Progressives Congress do not have strong politician in the area as unlike the PDP with such stalwarts as the late former governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Konbowei Benson and chief of staff, Government House, Talford Ongolo.
He noted that the area recorded the lowest number of defections during the build-up to the election.
The Bayelsa number one citizen said that the Resident Electoral Commission, Baritor Kpagih, did the right thing by cancelling the election in Southern Ijaw, saying he acted in line with the Electoral Act 2011.

Dickson wondered how the APC was able to score 80,000 votes in the area where it did not have strong followership.
“The opposition connived with the military to undermine the security of the electorate and INEC staff in order to manipulate the electoral process knowing fully well that the local government is second to Yenagoa local government in terms of voting strength,” he said.
In a related development, Governor Dickson had set up a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the violence and a breach of peace that occurred before and after the governorship election between December 3 and 6 in the state.
